Uplift Kensington Sub committees

The focus of ILKA has very much become around the uplifting of Kensington, and as such we have formed several subcommittees in order to help us uplift our suburb.  Our suburb cannot continue to be the wonderful place it is without the assistance of all who love it.

All subcommittees are looking for voluntary help, which you can provide by contacting us on Kensington2094@gmail.com (please mark your email with the name of the subcommittee you would like to help on in the subject line)

Interalia, these are:

The Animal Welfare subcommittee:
Concerns itself with issues pertaining to animal safety in and around Kensington, the safe housing of stray animals in the hope of returning them to their owners and the combating of animal abuse in our areas.

The Community Building subcommittee:
We want to build our community.  This subcommittee is looking at how this can be done and considering various options and ideas.

The Environmental subcommittee
Deals with issues pertaining to environment in our area.  Acid water drainage, pollution, storm water, litter, are all issues that this subcommittee would address.

The security subcommittee:
Relates to all issues around crime and assisting authorities to fight it.

The Infrastructure subcommittee:
Deals with issues pertaining to adhering to council by laws, ensuring a safe and grime free Kensington!

The Kensington Market:
This is not a subcommittee but rather somewhat of an entity on its own. It happens once a month, on the last Sunday of every month at the Jeppe Girls Lower Sports Fields. It does have a marketing committee however and would appreciate your involvement.
