The Street Guard Academy has managed to provide training to approximately 75% of the street guards in Kensington.  For some of the old hands it was a refresher course and for the newer ones it provided some basic training on how to be a good street guard and what to do in an emergency such as witnessing a crime or potential crime. The cellphone is a powerful communication tool and the guards are now using this more effectively to pass on information which is then circulated among other streets. 

The street guards are our first line of defence and should act as a deterrant to potential criminals. We also want them to feel part of the community so that residents feel comfortable in coming and going.   We appeal to those streets in Kensington whose guards have not been trained to please communicate with Rob on SGforum10@gmail.com
